Histological Observation of Various Organs Following Administration of Rodenticide RH-787 on the Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to study the effect of rodenticide RH-787 on various organs, histopathological examination was carried out in the rats after oral administration of RH-787. The results were as follow:
1. Pancreas: The acinar cells adjacent the interlobular connective tissue and Langerhan´s islet cells showed regressive changes of mild to moderate degree. Moreover, some areas more severely´ affected revealed patch necrosis.
2. Adrenals: The adrenals showed hydropic or focal necrotic changes of mild to moderate degree throughout the cortical and medullary zones. The degree and extent of the injury, however, were varied among the experimental animals.
3. Liver: The liver showed mild degenerative changes of hepatocytes and sinusoidal congestion.
4. Kidney: Capillary congestion of the glomeruli and swelling or hydropic degeneration of the renal tubular cells were noted.
5. Spleen and Lung: No significant changes were noted in the spleen lung.
